Birthday Stargazing

Boulder, WY | July 22, 2018

I began my 23 year

- well, 24th including my stint in-utero -

standing around a fire pit that was

warming the late night stragglers

who stayed up just to watch for

satellites and stars and

the momentary crossing of

the International Space System.

Our necks reached upward to see

cosmic specks spinning on

differing orbits,

while we, too, slowly turned

on our subtle axis.

Such wonderful company

to be with as I

embarked on another rotation

around our sun.
